German bishops say ‘no room’ for Holocaust denier in Catholicism
Germany’s Catholic bishops are calling for the expulsion of a former bishop, recently brought back into the church by Pope Benedict XVI, after new reports that he denies the Holocaust.

In statements to Spiegel Online, the Web site of the German news magazine, Archbishop Robert Zollitsch said the church should part ways with Bishop Richard Williamson, a member of an ultra-conservative group that split off after Pope John Paul II excommunicated him and three other bishops in 1988.
"Mr. Williamson is impossible and irresponsible," Zollitsch, chairman of the German Bishops’ Conference, told the magazine in an article published Saturday. "I now see no room for him in the Catholic Church."

What Was The HOLOCAUST? What Is It You Deny, That Gets You Arrested In Germany And Austria?

In our continued quest to establish the exact nature of the phenomenon that enables Israel to do what it does with impunity, this question arose from an answerer's comment about labour camps vs death camps.
What IS the "Holocaust"? Is it the name given to the deaths by execution, to the tune of several million? Does it refer to several million deaths, by all causes, including starvation and disease? Is it restricted to treatment in CAMPS? Is it restricted to criminal persecution (to death, by a Nation) of undesirables, of any description?
If I went to Germany and said "The Holocaust is a hoax", would I be arrested immediately, or would they ask me what I MEANT before doing so? The story is, several million (various) were exterminated–would it still be the Holocaust if only a few hundred thousand were killed, or would it just be ANOTHER holocaust, with a LITTLE "h"?

I ask because we've got the impression that the exact nature of the event named the "Holocaust" seems to vary. And IF it varies, how is anyone supposed to verify it happened, as described? Bishop Williamson DIDN'T say there "was no Holocaust", he just rejected the numbers, and the use of gas chambers. Does that make him a "Holocaust Denier" or not?
Sorry for the big question, but there's no compulsion to answer it, is there? Thanks!

I'd love to talk to an ex-death camp inmate. And I wouldn't use the word hoax in any seriousness, I just used it for the arrest example.
Schultz–thanks, that's clarified what their policy was. The "Holocaust" only actually refers to the JEWS that were killed though, yes? That's what my dictionary says.

Well you would put it like that, and obviously if I regarded what they do as "defence", I'd have no problem with it. The way you put it, to try and blacken my position, is understandable, but doesn't help you convince me of anything. You're not to be trusted, putting it like that.
btw–the retaliation of someone who's had his land stolen (and is,daily), and the subsequent collective punishment meted out BECAUSE of that retaliation, does not constitute "defence" to any sane person. That's just teaching someone (and their children) a damn good lesson for objecting.
btw2–did Stalin expect any of his "dissidents" ever to come back from the Gulags?
