U.S. soldiers secure a Tigris River bank Sunday before the handover of a military base near Mosul to Iraqi control.Iraqi forces now calling the shots
As American soldiers now defer to Iraqi forces in their homeland, the six-year war has changed dramatically for the thousands of U.S. troops deployed to Iraq.

A security agreement that went into effect at the start of the year mandated the withdrawal of U.S. combat troops from Iraqi cities and towns by June 30. Almost a month after the completion of that pullout, the dynamics of patrolling the streets have changed dramatically.
The Americans are no longer in charge, subject to the decisions and preferences of their Iraqi counterparts.

How Iraqi Women Transition To American After Marrying American Soldiers?

I have a neighbor who just came back from Iraq after marrying an american soldier and now he's back in Iraq. What are some of differences in our culture that may be difficult for her. Do Iraqi women related differently to men that american women?
To people who have unnecessary comments……you are far off base. He happens to be an old best friend and we talk everyday about his problem. I happen to be helping HIM out. You need not respond unless you have "answers" to people's questions. Your uncessary advice is not needed and inaccurate when you don't know a whole story of a situation.

Blackwater guards fan out to secure the site of a Baghdad roadside bombing in 2005.Official: U.S. will not renew Iraq contract with Blackwater
The State Department will not renew the contract of security contractor Blackwater Worldwide when it expires in May, a senior State Department official said Friday.

The decision was made after the Iraqi government refused last week to renew the firm’s operating license because of a 2007 incident in which the Iraqi government says security guards — then employed by Blackwater — fired on and killed 17 Iraqis.
Blackwater’s latest "task order" expires in May, and the senior official said that "one of the conditions is that you have to have a license" to continue working in the country.
