Guantanamo Pentagon United | Commentary: How many Gitmo prisoners return to fight?

Katherine Tiedemann also says Pentagon estimates of recidivism may be too high.Commentary: How many Gitmo prisoners return to fight?
As President Obama awaits formal recommendations this month on issues surrounding the U.S. military prison at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, it is crucial that policymakers and the public have an accurate picture of the threat to the United States posed by those detainees already released.

Contrary to recent assertions that one in seven, or 14 percent, of the former prisoners had "returned to the battlefield," our analysis of Pentagon reports, news stories and other public records indicates that the number who were confirmed or suspected to be involved in anti-U.S. violence is closer to one in 25, or 4 percent.
During his first week in office, Obama signed an executive order directing that the Guantanamo prison be closed by January 22, 2010, and suspending the system of military commissions that existed to deal with detainees in what the Bush administration termed the war on terror.

In Japan Why Are English Film Titles Rewritten Into Japanese To Have The Same Pronounciation But No Meaning?

that was really hard to word in under 110 characters lol

basically what I'm asking is in some countries (ive noticed Japan and Korea) why are English film titles rewritten using Japanese/Korean characters so that when they are pronounced they sound similar to the English title, but don't mean anything in that language?

e.g. Tell Me Something is a Korean film but on IMDB it is called Telmisseomding

and the Japanese film 'Moonlight Jellyfish' is called Munraito jierifisshu? Because surely the translated names don't actually mean anything in either languages? So why change the name…is it so people can pronounce it better than they would the English word?

im just curious…

Two out of three expressed confidence that Democrats in Congress will make the right economic moves.Poll: Politicians trusted more than business leaders on economy
Call it a sign of the times. A new national poll indicates that when it comes to dealing with the economy, Americans have more confidence in the White House and Congress than Wall Street, the banks or auto executives.

And that may be one reason why a CNN/Opinion Research Corp. survey released Monday suggests the public opposes plans to provide more taxpayer dollars to banks and major domestic automakers.
Thirty percent of those questioned said they’re confident Wall Street will make the right decisions to help the country overcome the current recession. Slightly fewer — 28 percent — said they had such confidence in bankers and financial executives. And 26 percent said they’re confident that auto executives will make the right economic decisions.
