President-elect Barack Obama on Wednesday called for Democratic Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich to resign, a day after Blagojevich’s arrest on corruption charges.

"The president-elect agrees with [Illinois] Lt. Gov. [Pat] Quinn and many others that under the current circumstances it is difficult for the governor to effectively do his job and serve the people of Illinois," Obama spokesman Robert Gibbs said.
FBI agents on Tuesday arrested Blagojevich and his chief of staff, John Harris, on federal corruption charges related in part to the selection of Obama’s successor to the Senate.

Kelly Kinney spends her days standing on Los Angeles street corners or in coffee bars hoping to get noticed.

Look at her from the front and you can read the 29-year-old marketing professional’s resume. Check her out from behind and you can read the cover letter. Kinney needs a job.
"Publicity is something I have always been good at and basically, the name of the game is how you can get noticed, how you can distinguish yourself from everybody else," she said.

Does EDD Verify With Employers That A Job Seeker Submitted A Resume Or Job Application?

I was wondering if EDD would verify with employers that I submitted job applications and because I'm trying to find work. Do they verify that theres a job application sitting in an employers files? I applied in some local stores but I'm just wondering if EDD make phone calls and have employers give information about job seekers.
I'm wondering if employers keep people's applications confidential or give out information to EDD.

Saturn owners hope GM doesn’t abandon them

Judy Pearson keeps a photo album about her Saturn Sky. She hopes the company doesn't go away.Saturn owners hope GM doesn’t abandon them
Kat Koonce loves her Saturns. She owns three, and has pictures of them on Saturnfans.com, where she is one of almost 2,500 Saturn devotees who’ve posted photo albums of their vehicles.

Judy Pearson shows off a photo album of her Saturn Sky roadster the way a grandmother might show off one of her grandchildren — pictures of vacations and happy times together.
The women are exactly the kind of customers General Motors was looking for when it introduced the Saturn brand two decades ago as "a different kind of car company." The brand’s slogan is now one word — "rethink" — but its fate may soon be summed up in another — "done."

How Much Is A Clock Spring Repair?

I brought a 97 Saturn SL for a cheap price because the horn and airbag doesnt work due to a faulty clock spring. The owner gave me a new clock spring because she didnt have the time to invest in the repair. I called the dealer (and over the phone) included it is a clock spring problem but they said they couldnot give me a price after the diagnosis, repair and test run after installation is done. Any body have any ideas how much it'll cost? I'm thinking somewhere between $75 x 3 hrs of labor= $225

Man who lost family when jet hit house: I don’t blame pilot

Firefighters and military personnel sift through wreckage Monday in San Diego, California.Man who lost family when jet hit house: I don’t blame pilot
A Korean immigrant who lost his wife, two children and mother-in-law when a Marine Corps jet slammed into the family’s house said Tuesday he did not blame the pilot, who ejected and survived.

"Please pray for him not to suffer from this accident," a distraught Dong Yun Yoon told reporters gathered near the site of Monday’s crash of an F/A-18D jet in San Diego’s University City community.
"He is one of our treasures for the country," Yoon said in accented English punctuated by long pauses while he tried to maintain his composure.

Do You Think The Pilot Of The F-18 Jet Crash In San Diego That Killed Innocents Is At Fault?

This is the most shocking accident I have ever heard of and I am so so furious. What a coward US Air Force pilot. I find him responsible for the death of the occupants of the house the jet crashed into, killing a grandmother, her daughter and 2 grandchildren.

The pilot parachuted out of the jet plane as it was flying over a residential neighborhood. I just watched footage of him once he landed on the lawn of a house in 100% great condition, leaving the jet to randomly crash into a house without directing it away. Yes, he may have died in the process but at least he could've prevented 4 others die due to his fate of having engine trouble (maybe he shouldn't checked the engine before flying or whatever). I feel so sad for the 4 innocent deaths. THey haven't recovered the body of one of the grandchildren yet, she was probably burned to nothing but ashes.
Of course I don't think he did it on purpose, but for there to have been enough time for his parachute to open and to land safely takes quite some time so that alone is proof that it was not last second. He could've directed it away from houses.

Sen. Larry Craig, pictured here in August, says he was the victim of police entrapment.Court denies Sen. Craig’s effort to withdraw sex-sting plea
The Minnesota Court of Appeals on Tuesday rejected U.S. Sen. Larry Craig’s effort to withdraw his guilty plea to a misdemeanor offense of disorderly conduct in connection with a sex-sting operation.

"Because we see no abuse of discretion in the denial and conclude that the statute is not overbroad, we affirm" a lower court’s decision, the three-judge panel wrote in a 10-page ruling.
In a written statement, Craig said he was "extremely disappointed" by the action and was considering an appeal.

Larry Craig Wants To Withdraw His Guilty Plea?

Now trying to avoid resigning his Senate seat, Larry Craig, internationally known pervert, now wants to quietly withdraw his guilty plea that he made to dodge a more serious charge. Sort of plea bargaining with the right to default on your side of the deal. Should the original charges then be reinstated? Should attempted fraud be added for his bad-faith bargaining on top of his perversion in public bathroom stalls?
