And timing is everything when it comes to cashing in during the bailout.

The soon-to-be-combined Morgan Stanley and Citigroup’s Smith Barney will be doling out bonuses to its financial advisers, even as both firms take $60 billion of your bailout dollars.
And it gets better. The bonuses, which could total $3 billion, will be based on the companies’ 2008 numbers, which, while bad, will almost certainly be better than this year.

Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr. says neither he nor any emissaries offered favors in exchange for a Senate appointment.Jesse Jackson Jr.: ‘I want my name back’
U.S. Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr. said Friday that he was fighting to get "my name back" after he was identified as "Senate Candidate 5" in a criminal complaint against Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich.

Jackson, the son of famed civil rights leader Jesse Jackson and a six-term Democratic congressman from Chicago, had publicly sought to succeed President-elect Barack Obama in the U.S. Senate.
Jackson had talked to Blagojevich, the person with the sole power to make the appointment, on Monday, just one day before federal agents arrested the Illinois governor. Jackson said he only presented his credentials and polling information that suggests he could win re-election in 2010.

for Jackson Senior's behavior toward Obama?
====
Well, I guess I need to clarify. Jessie Jackson (senior) had negative things to say about Obama during his campaign. I wondered why Jessie had such ill feelings about Obama when Obama was getting what Jackson wanted all along. I don't think it was jealousy now, but might had to do with a skirmish of hoping Obama would support his son getting into the senate, and it looked like it might not be done.
