The National Organization for Women’s New York chapter called for embattled Gov. David Paterson’s resignation Tuesday after a report alleging that he asked two staff members to call a woman who accused a governor’s aide of assault.

Most people know that New York Governor David Paterson is legally blind. Since he became governor, I have always wondered how he was able to do his job with his impairment. This is not to be rude at all: it simply seems like it would be extremely difficult to perform a job with so much paperwork if you couldn't see well.

Does anyone know the extent to which Gov. Paterson is blind? Can he still read? Does he have bills translated into Braille? Or does he have someone read them to him? I'm curious, because it must be tough.

New York Gov. David Paterson said Sunday that Caroline Kennedy received "no signal from me that she had to withdraw" from her campaign to fill Hillary Clinton’s vacant U.S. Senate.

Appearing at a news conference with the person he picked to fill that seat — Democratic Rep. Kirsten Gillibrand of Hudson in upstate New York — Paterson briefly answered reporters’ questions about the Kennedy withdrawal, saying the decision was entirely hers.
"Caroline Kennedy called me on Wednesday to inform me that for personal reasons she had to withdraw," Paterson said.

New York Gov. David Paterson has chosen Democratic Congresswoman Kirsten Gillibrand to succeed Hillary Clinton as U.S. Senator from New York, multiple Democratic sources told CNN Friday.

Gillibrand, 42, represents New York’s traditionally Republican 20th district.
She is a member of the Blue Dog Coalition, a group of congressional Democrats who hold more conservative views than their liberal Democratic counterparts.

Caroline Kennedy hopes to replace Hillary Clinton as New York's junior senator.Senate hopeful Kennedy meets with NY governor
New York Gov. David Paterson met with Senate hopeful Caroline Kennedy Saturday afternoon, but the governor’s spokesman said details of the meeting will be kept private.

Erin Duggan, Paterson’s spokesman, said the two met at the governor’s Manhattan office about 2 p.m. ET. She would not disclose what the pair talked about, nor say how long the meeting lasted.
Kennedy is one of the candidates hoping to replace Hillary Clinton as New York’s junior senator if the Senate confirms Clinton as secretary of state.
