What Did You Think Of Sarah Palin's Tea Party Speech Tonight?

I like the idea of developing our own sources of energy (tons of jobs – real jobs that aren't created by our taxes.)
I like that she shot down Obama's health care. I am so thankful that did not pass. We would be paying for that disaster for decades. I should be able to reap the rewards of my own hard work and smart decisions. It's not freedom to take from someone what they rightfully earned.

Former Secretary of State Colin Powell said he has been subject to racial profiling.Powell: Both Gates, police could have handled things better
Former Secretary of State Colin Powell said Tuesday that he has been the victim of racial profiling but believes Harvard professor Henry Louis Gates Jr. could have been more patient with the police officer who arrested him.

At the same time, Powell also faulted the Cambridge (Massachusetts) Police Department for escalating the situation beyond a reasonable level.
"I think Skip [Gates], perhaps in this instance, might have waited a while, come outside, talked to the officer and that might have been the end of it," Powell said in an interview with CNN’s Larry King.

Sarah Palin on Sunday says she'll continue to fight "for what is right, and for truth."Stepping aside, Palin vows to ‘fight even harder’
As Sarah Palin handed over the Alaska governorship this weekend, the wear, tear and resentments of a year on the big stage were evident for the former GOP vice presidential candidate.

Her parting words Sunday included a parting shot at the media:
"So how about in honor of the American soldier, you quit making up things. And don’t underestimate the wisdom of the people. And one other thing for the media — our new governor has a very nice family, too, so leave his kids alone," she said as she handed off power to Sean Parnell, the lieutenant governor.

"Considering the alternative, he's doing fantastic."Maher: Obama’s bright but still has learning curve
Barack Obama is smarter than the average president, but he still has a lot to learn, according to comedian Bill Maher.

The president’s nominees for Cabinet posts should be astute enough to pay their taxes, Maher said Thursday on CNN’s "Larry King Live."
And Obama shouldn’t expect much help from Republicans in resolving the country’s economic crisis, he said. Not as long as they’re listening to Rush Limbaugh anyway. The following is an edited transcript of political observations from the host of HBO’s "Real Time With Bill Maher."

Todd Palin and nine aides were found in contempt Friday by the Alaska Senate for failing to appear to testify in the Legislature’s "troopergate" investigation of his wife, Gov. Sarah Palin, a spokeswoman for the Alaska Democratic Party said.

But a Senate resolution said no one should be punished, because the 10 did submit statements to the investigator, the Anchorage Daily News reported.
The governor’s office did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
