Barack Obama’s daughters are moving into a house with a swimming pool, a bowling alley and its own movie theater.

When their father is inaugurated on January 20, Malia Obama, 10, and Sasha Obama, 7, will also be moving into a place where they’ll not only be under the watchful eye of the Secret Service but also under the eye of the media.
"One of the negatives of the White House is that its very much a fishbowl," presidential historian Doug Wead said.

Inauguration Day dawned Tuesday in Washington with no major security problems, but authorities are reviewing an unspecified threat to disrupt the inauguration of Barack Obama as the nation’s 44th president.

The FBI is investigating two "streams of intelligence" suggesting the "Somalia-based terrorist organization Al Shabaab" may be plotting an attack timed to coincide with the event Tuesday, the FBI and Department of Homeland Security said in a joint threat advisory obtained by CNN.
Security officials have made some readjustments to inauguration security as a precaution, but have not changed the threat level, an administration official told CNN.

President-elect Barack Obama's train ride from Philadelphia to Washington will pose myriad security risks.President-elect’s train trip poses miles of security issues
President-elect Barack Obama’s January 17 train trip from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to Washington is intended to make the inauguration the most open and accessible in history.

But it is also presenting the U.S. Secret Service with security problems. Miles and miles and miles of them.
In addition to the well-publicized "whistle stops" in Philadelphia; Wilmington, Delaware; and Baltimore, Maryland, the Presidential Inauguration Committee says the public will have the opportunity to view the train at other locations along its 137-mile route.

Federal officials are bracing for a massive turnout for Barack Obama's presidential inauguration.Officials plan for massive inaugural turnout
Federal and local officials are bracing for an expected massive turnout for the January inauguration of President-elect Barack Obama, but say predictions of 4 or 5 million visitors to Washington are too high.

However, authorities from several law enforcement and transportation agencies declined to offer an alternative estimate for the January 20 swearing-in and parade.
"We continue to check on expected planes and buses and hotel rooms, and I can say there’s just nothing to suggest 4 million. But if it happens we’ll be prepared to deal with that," said Malcolm Wiley, a spokesman for the U.S. Secret Service.
