Djeparov wins Asian player of the year – CNN.com
Uzbek international midfielder Server Djeparov added to his reputation on Tuesday when he was named the Asian Football Confederation’s player of the year.
Djeparov was honored for contributions that included playing a leading role in propeling Uzbekistan’s Bunyodkor into the semifinals of this year’s AFC Champions League under famed Brazilian coach Zico.
The accollade is sure to further the buzz around the 26-year-old, tipped by some as having a future at a top European club.
