Is Getting A Players Name And Number On The Back Of Your Football Shirt Childish?


I don't think it is, but I had 'Terry 26' put on the back of my Chelsea shirt and a few people reckon I've 'ruined it' and that it's the sort of thing a '10 year old might do'.

But when I go to Stamford Bridge, I reckon at least a third of supporters wearing replica shirts have names and numbers on them, most of them fully grown men!

What do you think?
I don't understand why it's like putting Jordan 23 on a Chelsea shirt? That would make no sense…

I always thought that getting your own name on a shirt was a bit childish, whereas getting a players nickname on your shirt with his number was quite cool. I used to have 'Sparky 10' when Mark Hughes played.

I've seen a guy on the train back from Chelsea matches who has 'The Drog's Ballacks' on his shirt with Drogbas number I think, I probably wouldn't want that on my shirt, but it was kind of funny.

The fossilized vertebrae of the Columbian mammoth is undergoing cleaning.Nearly intact mammoth skeleton a rare find in L.A.
He had a rough life during the Ice Age, walking around with a couple of broken ribs and a possibly cancerous lesion on his jaw before dying at a young age.

Now, at least 10,000 years later, visitors in Los Angeles, California, can see the remains of "Zed," a Columbian mammoth whose nearly intact skeleton is part of what is being described as a key find by archaeologists at Los Angeles’ George C. Page Museum.
Zed was discovered at a construction site in the heart of Los Angeles. An earth mover helping to build an underground parking garage near the L.A. County Museum of Art uncovered the mammoth’s skull, according to project director Christopher Shaw.

Somalia’s president said Sunday he has dismissed his prime minister for failing to do his job, a move that could threaten peace efforts in the the violence-ravaged African nation.

Abdullahi Yusuf said he would nominate a replacement for Nur Hassan Hussein within three days.
Hussein, a former Red Crescent official appointed 13 months ago, has reportedly been at loggerheads with Yusuf over efforts to reach a reconciliation agreement with an Islamist-led opposition.
