Analysts say Pfizer is looking to beef up its drug pipeline with an acquisition.Media reports: Pfizer near deal to buy Wyeth for $68 billion
Pfizer is near a deal to purchase rival drug maker Wyeth for $68 billion, according to news reports late Sunday that cited people familiar with the situation.

The Wall Street Journal and The New York Times reported a deal was imminent and likely to be announced Monday.
"It is our policy not to comment on rumor or speculation," said Michael Lampe, a Wyeth representative. Pfizer was not immediately available for comment.
